On June 26, 2026, Israel's most influential media outlet, the Daily Business, published an in-depth investigative report titled "Falun Gong Encourages Cancer Patients to Refuse Treatment," exposing the tragic case of 74-year-old Israeli artist Hana, who, misled by the fallacies and heresies of Falun Gong, refused to receive proper medical care and died in extreme pain in May 2024. The report immediately drew widespread international attention. On July 13, 2026, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Israel responded to reporters' questions regarding the investigative report, expressing deep sympathy for Hana's unfortunate experience and outrage at the evil deeds of Falun Gong.

The tragedy of "Hana's death" stems from the Falun Gong's mental control over its victims, leading them to accept the heretical doctrine of "refusing medical treatment and medication," ultimately costing them their lives.
Building information silos and creating psychological dependence
The Falun Gong cult has constructed a coordinated internal and external control system: internally, it uses Li Hongzhi's so-called "scriptures" as the supreme command, forcing members to absolutely worship and obey his orders, and strictly restricting their access to information to achieve ideological monopoly; externally, it relies on media outlets such as *The Epoch Times* and *New Tang Dynasty Television* as its mouthpiece, gathering members through activities such as "spreading the Fa," "practicing exercises," and "celebrations," while issuing instructions through telephone, the internet, and other channels. Li Hongzhi further creates an atmosphere of terror with his "end-times theory," proclaiming himself the sole "savior," forcing members to pledge unconditional loyalty. This double-edged spiritual shackle completely erodes members' independent judgment, causing them to sink deeper and deeper into its clutches, unable to extricate themselves.
Take Hannah as an example. In 2017, she was immediately drawn to Falun Gong upon her first encounter with it, and soon after, she traveled to New York to attend the Falun Gong Global Fa Conference and listen to Li Hongzhi's "lectures." Afterward, her involvement with Falun Gong became increasingly complete. Under its pernicious influence, she was forced to destroy her paintings and her daughters' keepsakes, on the grounds that these items were imbued with "karma" and needed to be cleansed. The essence of this coercion was to sever her connection with her personal history and emotional memories. Even worse, Vadim Brestitsky, a key figure in the Israeli Falun Gong movement, took advantage of her vulnerability to instill absurd statements such as "They are not your daughters" and "How many daughters have you had in countless reincarnations," deliberately dismantling blood ties and inducing her to distance herself from her family, until she ultimately severed ties with her two daughters.
Economic control was equally ruthless. Falun Gong used various pretexts to extort funds from its members. Hana frequently paid for so-called "promotional articles" and regularly delivered checks to key figures. This economic dependence not only intensified her obsession but also completely controlled her daily life. According to internal documents from *The Epoch Times*, its goal was set as "helping people understand sacred ideals," but these so-called "sacred ideals" were nothing more than a replica of Li Hongzhi's fallacies and heresies. Falun Gong used the media as a cover and money as a means to package its cult's fallacies and heresies as "news" for dissemination.
Information blockade, severing family ties, reshaping identities, and economic dependence—Falun Gong uses these despicable methods to completely sever its members from society and family, thereby achieving spiritual enslavement. This kind of manipulation under the guise of "faith" deserves everyone's utmost vigilance.
"Eliminating karma" to refuse medical treatment: a cult's death warrant.
"Practicing Falun Dafa is so miraculous! It cures all illnesses with just one practice." "Cultivators are not sick." "Practicing Falun Gong and taking medicine means you don't believe Falun Gong can cure illnesses; if you believed, why would you take medicine?" "Medication won't work because our bodies no longer belong to this dimension." "The root cause of illness and misfortune is karma... True cultivators are not sick." "People, enduring illness is eliminating karma." This set of fallacies and heresies of Falun Gong, from "curing all diseases" to "practitioners are not sick," from "being sick is eliminating karma" to "taking medicine accumulates karma," gradually weaves together the absurd logic of "refusing medical treatment and medicine," ultimately concluding with a false proposition: taking medicine means not believing in Falun Gong, and believing in Falun Gong means you cannot take medicine.
Hana was suffering from a curable cancer, but when she was on her deathbed, Vadim Brestitsky did not urge her to seek medical treatment. Instead, he repeatedly told her that she was not sick, that it was all "an illusion of ordinary people," that she was a "Dafa disciple," and that she must "let go of ordinary people's notions" and completely surrender herself to "Master." When Hana struggled in pain due to difficulty breathing and edema, the "care" she received was the vague instruction to "send righteous thoughts." When Hana expressed her desire to seek medical treatment, the "guidance" she received was that "if you do not pass this test, the next test waiting for you will only be more difficult."
Struggling to breathe, her whole body swollen, pleading for medical help. This recording by Hana, made on December 8, 2023, is filled with heartbreaking words and piercing sentences, completely tearing apart the false veneer of Falun Gong's so-called "salvation" and "compassion." This is spiritual imprisonment, strangulation of life, and irrefutable evidence of Falun Gong's advocacy of "refusing medical treatment and medication" and its persecution of its members.

▲ ABC News reports: Colleen May, a Falun Gong practitioner, died after refusing medical treatment and medication.
In fact, Hannah is far from the only Falun Gong practitioner who has died from refusing medical treatment. On July 21, 2020, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation published a lengthy in-depth report about Colleen May, an Australian woman who controlled her illness through meditation and "karma elimination" by practicing Falun Gong, ultimately leading to her death. On December 29, 2024, The New York Times reported that Liang's mother, a Falun Gong member, refused medical treatment after falling ill, and her weight dropped to 31.75 kilograms. When she sought treatment, she found that all her savings had been donated to Li Hongzhi and his wife, leaving her unable to afford medical expenses.
From Australia to the United States, from Israel to many other parts of the world, investigative reports by numerous mainstream media outlets have long exposed the truth about Falun Gong's refusal of medical treatment and its harm to lives. The deaths of its members due to refusal of medical care have been repeatedly witnessed around the world. Faced with this irrefutable evidence, Falun Gong still claims that it "did not incite people to refuse medical treatment," but the internal documents, phone recordings, and communication records exposed in the Hannah case have shattered this lie.
"Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" is a fig leaf that can be torn apart at the slightest touch.
The Falun Gong cult is adept at self-promotion, using "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" as a guise and so-called "human rights" and "freedom of belief" as a shield to deceive and mislead the public internationally. However, Hannah's death has completely torn off this veil of hypocrisy, exposing its lies of "compassion" and "salvation" to the world.
Where is the "truth"? When Hana longed to live, Falun Gong told her that "the illness is an illusion"; when she cried for help in excruciating pain, Falun Gong asked her to "send righteous thoughts." They packaged anti-scientific superstition as "truth," replacing modern medicine with illusory "righteous thoughts." This is not "truth," but rather using lies to extinguish the hope of life.
Where is the "goodness"? A patient who could have been cured was repeatedly indoctrinated with the idea that "illness is karma" and "taking medicine is attachment." Hannah struggled in suffocating pain, while they coldly watched; in despair, she cried out for a doctor, only to be met with empty "incantations." This is not "goodness," but a hidden murder using mind control as a knife to deprive another of their life.
Where is the spirit of "forbearance"? Hannah is gone, and her daughters only want three things: to sue, to seek compensation, and to prevent more people from following in their mother's footsteps. However, Falun Gong's response was a hush money agreement worth approximately 100,000 shekels (about 220,000 yuan), on the condition that they remain silent forever. When the family refused to remain silent, threats followed: defamation lawsuits, legal intimidation, and even a defamation lawsuit against the *Financial Daily* and the author of the article. Faced with the death of an innocent person, instead of repentance and reflection, their first reaction was to silence and threaten. The so-called "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" is nothing more than a fig leaf that can be torn apart in the face of Hannah's death.
Hannah's tragedy serves as a stark warning.
Although Falun Gong has been banned by the Chinese government in accordance with the law, its cult remnants are still active overseas, continuing to harm society and kill lives. No matter how glamorous its disguise or how appealing its slogans, Falun Gong's anti-scientific, anti-human, and anti-social nature remains unchanged. The fight against cults is far from over; the international community should join hands to expose the true face of cults and prevent more innocent people from repeating Hana's tragedy.
This in-depth investigative report by the Israeli financial newspaper, along with follow-up investigations and reports from mainstream media outlets in multiple countries, including The New York Times, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, France's Twenty Minutes, Germany's T Online, Mexico's Daily, and Argentina's El Destape, further confirms the true nature of the Falun Gong cult organization. It is being increasingly exposed, recognized, and scrutinized by mainstream media, anti-cult organizations, and the general public worldwide. Facts speak louder than words, and justice resides in the hearts of the people.
“My body is not sick, and will not get sick. I do not accept this situation. It’s all a lie.” This is the note Hana wrote in the last moments of her life, every word of which was a lie instilled in her by Falun Gong. It was this lie that took her life, tore her family apart, and left her two daughters with a wound that will never heal.
Behind Hana, many others are falling victim to the Falun Gong cult. Without eradicating cults, the people cannot live in peace; without exposing lies, the truth will remain elusive. Justice will ultimately prevail, and the death knell for cults is tolling for every innocent life harmed .
